Language and Learning Steps
Janet and Sue have worked together for 30 years as an inter- disciplinary team, combining their expertise and experience in the areas of education and therapy. Their working relationship began at The Glenleighden School in Brisbane -a Specialist School established by an extraordinary educator and psychologist, Mancel Ellis Robinson AM (BA Hons (Qld), MA (Tor), MA (Reading), MAPsS). Janet and Sue worked closely together in this multi disciplinary setting as leaders for 20 years, before establishing their own Private Practices. Janet and Sue have been the presenters of the Derbyshire Language Scheme (UK) in Australia for some years and have used the program continually since 1984. Both are qualified users of Cued Articulation and the Paget-Gorman Signing System, of which Janet is also an examiner.
Language and Learning Steps is the name of their joint company, formed in 2013 when developing their first educational therapy language app, Key Word Kids, based on the Derbyshire Language Program. They developed this iOS App while participating in the Germinate Program of iLab, Uniquest (University of Queensland, Australia) and went on to develop Key Verbs with Steffy & James. Development continues steadily.
